It can be hard to find the courage to share, but it’s necessary to grow.
I’ve always wanted to start a blog, but could never justify its existence.
Would people read it?
Am I a good enough writer?
Do I actually have anything worth sharing?
Would I be taking attention away from other projects important to me?
These are questions yet to be answered.
At times, I’m too conservative when it comes to sharing my work.
Like a lot of us, I don’t want to put anything out there until it’s ‘perfect’, but there’s no such thing perfect, only better than yesterday.
This mindset is more rewarding than:
It’s true, your product or service might not be good enough, it might not be ready, and it might not work, but you won’t know any of that for certain until you share it with the world.
Sharing makes you vulnerable, it opens you up to criticism, but it’s a necessary part of the process.
There’s a chance you’ll be faced with the harsh reality that people don’t want what you made, but it’s better to know that sooner rather than later.
Alternatively, people might love what you made, and you’ll find out you had nothing to worry about.
You might end up wishing you shared sooner.
Either way, you’ll learn something important.
It might be time to cut your losses and move on, or it might be time to double down, but you won’t know one way or the other unless you find the courage to share.
And that brings me to what this blog is really about - progress.
This preface is the best I can write at this exact moment.
Could it be better?
Always - but the point is it’s good enough.
This blog is about making progress, about sharing even when it’s uncomfortable, about exploring good ideas.
It’s a place for me to share my journey, grow my business, and with any luck, make a difference.
